Henry Klingeman is a trial lawyer who concentrates in criminal defense. A Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers and Essex County Bar Association’s 2015 Criminal Trial Attorney of the Year, Henry has represented a senior bank executive in a nationally-significant fraud prosecution and related SEC enforcement action in the District of Delaware, a “Jersey Shore” cast member in a federal tax case in the District of New Jersey, a “Real Housewife of New Jersey” in a federal fraud case in the District of New Jersey, a Swiss bank in a federal criminal investigation in the Southern District of New York and witnesses in the so-called “Bridgegate” investigations, among many high-profile matters.
Henry was an Assistant U.S. Attorney from 1995 to 2001, handling both trial sand appeals as a federal prosecutor. Among the notable cases he handled as a prosecutor were an arson-murder from 1977 that was finally solved and prosecuted in 1996 and the trial of New Jersey financier Robert Brennan for bankruptcy fraud in 2001.
In private practice, Henry has represented New Jersey political figures such as State Senator Wayne Bryant, County Executive James Treffinger, Mayor Sammy Rivera, and political consultant Joseph Cardwell. He also represented a British national charged with terrorism offenses after a government sting operation. Henry has represented labor union leadership in criminal cases; judges, lawyers, doctors, and accountants in criminal and disciplinary proceedings; law enforcement officers charged with obstruction of justice and fraud, and numerous U.S. taxpayers in investigations of their alleged offshore accounts, including in hearings before the U.S. Senate.
