Ernesto Cerimele

Ernesto Cerimele is an experienced trial lawyer. He focuses his practice on criminal defense, appellate advocacy and high stakes civil litigation.

Ernesto regularly appears in Federal, State and Municipal Courts in New Jersey, New York and throughout the country. He has been the attorney of record on thousands of matters for both plaintiffs and defendants. Consistently ranked by peers as a “Super Lawyer,” and “Rising Star”, Ernesto is the rare advocate who combines the skills of an accomplished trial lawyer, defense attorney and appellate counsel.

Ernesto’s criminal practice ranges from white collar crimes, theft of trade secrets, public corruption, healthcare fraud, tax evasion and cybercrimes to violent crimes, narcotics and firearms offenses. Ernesto has achieved positive results for many of his clients, including dismissals, acquittals, the negotiation of favorable plea agreements and success on appeal. Ernesto is also a member of the PBA LPP, approved to represent law enforcement officers charged in disciplinary matters and criminal proceedings. 

Ernesto counsels clients in civil matters such as contract disputes, personal injury, litigation, and regulatory matters. He is a fierce advocate for victims of discrimination and civil rights violations, having recovered millions for his clients since 2010. 

Ernesto is a frequent speaker and panelist of Continuing Legal Education (CLE) for the New Jersey State Bar Association, New Jersey Association for Justice, and Essex County Bar Association.

Ernesto attended Drexel University as an undergraduate. He then pursued his legal education at Tulane University Law School, where he served as an editor on the Environmental Law Journal, before obtaining his Juris Doctor. He is a member of the New Jersey State Bar Association, New Jersey Association for Justice, Associate of the Federal Bar, and the Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers of New Jersey. He is also a proud member of the Scotch Plains Italian American Association. Ernesto previously served as the Municipal Prosecutor for the Townships of North Brunswick and East Brunswick, New Jersey.
